Pampering for the Homeschool Mom

Remember that analogy about putting on your own mask on an airplane before putting one on your children?  Homeschooling moms can easily fall into the trap of forgetting to take care of themselves, too...

We're big fans of subscription boxes for mom because, rather than being a one-time moment of relaxation, it's a monthly reminder that we need to step back and regularly take care of ourselves!

For the Gypsy Mom...

Wordy Traveler

The Wordy Traveler is a seasonal book subscription that make the world better place. Each quarter your curated box will transport you to an amazing destination with hand selected books from travel writers and local authors, ethically-sourced tea, and limited edition art print.  There are two options:  the Full Suitcase (three books) and the Backpacker (one book).

So far, my mom has visited Egypt and the New England Coast.  Each box has included some snacks, a bulk bag of tea, charms and trinkets, a lithograph, something big (like the sun hat shown here), and the themed book.  She is doing the Backpacker option, which only comes with one book.  You can select from fiction or non-fiction options.   Use code SparksAcademy for bonuses!

For the Creative Mom...

Adults & Crafts

This one is a curated craft subscription box for adults to create fun and trendy projects! Every month is a different craft that allows you to learn a new craft technique, like wood burning, embossing, clockmaking, and engraving. With this crate, you'll create beautiful products like wine carriers, hand-dipped candles, and epoxy resin coasters. Includes all the tools, materials, accessories and instructions you need to complete the craft. The possibilities are endless!

I tried out this box for a quarter, and really enjoyed the crafts.  My favorite was these adorable hot chocolate candles -- they smelled SO YUMMY!  Being inspired by this craft, our family purchased some additional supplies and gave everyone 'hot chocolate candles' last Christmas!

For the Simple Life Mom...

Bella Grace Magazine & Field Guide to Everyday Living

For anyone who is tired of trying to fit unrealistic standards of beauty or reaching for unattainable ideals, the Bella Grace publication gives you permission to just go ahead and toss them. Embrace imperfection. Discover magic in the ordinary. Celebrate your messy life. Shine a spotlight on small, everyday moments.  Their aim is to touch the souls of readers through beautifully penned stories, inspirational quotes, and striking photographs that capture life's beautiful journey.

I picked up this magazine at a used bookstore a few months ago and just fell in love!  It's focus on the simplicity of life was exactly what I needed at this stage.  The Field Guide was something I went seeking, and it was the perfect blend of introspection and love of life.  For all the simple life mamas, or those who want to slow down and enjoy it a bit more, this is a wonderful seasonal addition!

For the Religious Mom...

Butterfly Box

Life is busy, and it becomes harder to find the time each day to connect with Christ. Each box helps you reclaim those quiet moments with God, build your intimacy with Christ, and live out your faith in the world around you!  Boxes include five to six items with jewelry, artwork, books, decor, personal pampering items, faith sharing cards, and other specialty items, and are faith-based and / or support small Christian businesses.

My mother-in-law really enjoyed this one...we got her a quarterly subscription as a gift, and each month brought a new theme.  This box was the theme of grace, with some 'random acts of blessings' cards, a necklace, book, journal, and some other great goodies!

For the Super-Mom...

Silly Obsessions

"If You Can Read This, Please Rub My Feet"

This was beautiful and well done. The packaging was great and brought the whole thing together very well. I was a pleasantly surprised by the quality of items, which was beyond my expectations. My Mom really loved it and said, " This made my special day more special."
